Les Carroz and the Grand Massif ski range
has something for experts, beginners, children , jam park boarders and especially families. In 2004/2005 a brand new 8 person
fully enclosed telecabin lift was installed, replacing the previous 6 person
lift and therefore you will very rarily experience any queues when skiing from Les Carroz main station.
The whole design of this exclusive and thankfully little known siki resort and range makes life so easy, from travelling just one minute to the telecabin area free car park, to the one minute walk from your car or bus stop to the main telecabin and then skiing back on a nice easy green/blue all the way back down to the car park or free shuttle bus stop. If you don't feel like skiing back down to the car park, then just srtoll onto the telecabin with hardly any queues even late in the afternoon, as most people opt to ski back to the car park. A ski holiday without compulsory bun fight queues, without the hassle of walking miles with your childrens skis, without the problem of where to park. Sounds too good to be be true, well just try Les Carroz and you will not be disappointed.
The piste ski areas of Les Carroz and the Grand Massif are quite evenly split in terms of levels with half being green and blue runs and the other half being red and black runs. There are plenty of difficult reds and blacks which often run in parallel to the blues and greens, or are diversions off the blues and greens with all slopes meeting up at the same termination point. Therefore if you all want to ski as a group, the experienced skiers can take the red and black diversion or parallel runs, knowing that you will all meet at the bottom. Alternatively, there are some predominantly red and black run areas if the experienced skiers really do fancy a good blast.
Most of the green and blue slopes are very wide and ideal for practicing nice long turns without that awful worry that you are running out of piste before you gain the confidence to turn. The fact that slopes are also not as busy as some mainstream resorts is an added bonus for all skiers really. For absolute novices, worried ones or people who want to get their ski legs working, there is a very gentle green run at the top of the main telecabin from Les Carroz village. When you get out of the telecabin, this gentle green run is straight in front of you with a drag lift taking you to the start. This green run is also very wide and ideal for practicing, all day if you wish, without the worry of going onto any blue or red runs. Just get back on the telecabin, back down to the village. There is also a nice wide green run practice area which can be accessed from lower down in the village centre, for anyone who doesn't fancy the telecabin ride.

advised only to attempt the Valley Blanche
with an experienced guide The route finishes
on the giant glacier before the Montenvers
